Back on the trails at last

I’m trying to ramp up my training for the 50 km UTA Australia race in a sensible manner, but it was so good to finally get out on the trails at Belair National Park again some 8 weeks after fracturing my coccyx when I was knocked off my bike by an inattentive car driver.

Sunrise

Fair to say my legs were stiff after yesterdays stair run, so my focus was to take it slow and steady – not that there was much choice in the matter 🤔😆. I took regular walk breaks and just enjoyed myself.

Coast run

Starting back to training with a short run along the coast stair track. I am extremely unfit but it was a glorious morning to be out and the views were spectacular. The clock is ticking on UTA Australia – hopefully I’ll get enough training done to get around in a reasonable time. 🤞

Kangaroo Island

February 2023

Snap decision to take a short break amongst nature on Kangaroo Island. Truly a wonderful place to visit. We stayed at Emu Bay on a beach front sand dune with 5 km on glistening white hard packed sand. We caught up with friends, did some sightseeing, fishing, wine tasting and strolls along the beach. Glorious!

Tasmania

Quick trip to the north part of Tassie after a bike accident (hit by car that left the scene before I could get any details- grrrr) left me with a fractured coccyx that meant a vacation with a lot less activity than we’re used to. However the weather, nature, food and wine was great. Seeing a platypus in the wild was amazing. If only I knew how to post a video 🤔🤷‍♀️
